Glass Office Partitions Benefit Employee Health

Glass Office Partitions Benefit Employee Health

Did you know that office partitions have more benefits than just creating a contemporary office design? A recent study showed that glass partitions can have a positive effect on employees’ health.

How Glass Office Partitions Affect Health

It was discovered in a recent survey that 9 out of 10 employees will choose to work in an office environment which has more natural daylight, than an office that offers primarily electric lighting and few windows.

A possible reason behind this is that research has shown there is a close relation between workplace daylight exposure and office workers’ health.

The Interdepartmental Neuroscience program at Northwestern University (Chicago) reported that during working hours, employees with windows in the office received 173% more white light exposure. As a result they slept an average of 46 minutes more per night and had higher levels of physical activity.

On the other hand, employees whose work space included no windows reported a poorer quality of life related to physical problems and vitality. As well as poor outcomes on sleep efficiency, sleep disturbances and daytime dysfunction.

It is evident that there are significant health differences in people who are exposed to natural daylight over people who aren’t. So investing in glass office partitions will not only benefit employees but also the company as productivity increases due to better sleeping patterns.
